Actual mixing capacity and speed depend on vessel geometry, product viscosity, density, solids concentration and impeller selection. Published stirrer data similarly shows that motor rating and mixing capacity vary according to process material and viscosity.
Construction Details
- Motor
The machine is fitted with a robust electric motor selected according to the required stirring load. Motor options are available from 0.5 H.P. to 2 H.P. The motor can be supplied in single-phase or three-phase configuration according to the application.
- Stirrer Shaft
The vertical shaft is manufactured from stainless steel and accurately balanced for smooth operation. SS 304, SS 316 or SS 316L can be selected according to product-contact requirements.
- Impeller
The stirrer can be supplied with an appropriately selected impeller for the required mixing pattern. Available configurations include:
- Propeller type
- Paddle type
- Turbine type
- Pitched-blade type
- Customized impeller
Impeller selection is finalized according to liquid viscosity, vessel dimensions and desired circulation pattern. Industrial stirrer systems commonly offer interchangeable propeller, turbine and pitched-blade impellers.

Technical Note
The final RPM, shaft diameter, impeller diameter, number of impellers and recommended batch capacity should be selected according to the actual product viscosity, density, vessel diameter, liquid level and required mixing performance. This avoids specifying a universal capacity that may not be appropriate for every formulation.
